Nightmare To Reminisce
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
A living to live a past to have had,
Left behind.
To attempt a past gone,
Will be easier to forget...
As time and memories fade to pass.
For those to have not ever married.
However...
For the ones who have confesses a love,
To invest this love to marry then divorce.
That love to confess will be regretted.
Never to forget...
It was better than ever.
Before the mistake of saying 'I Do'.
Not with happy tears from eyes,
Then to cry.
To realize those tears of joy,
Cried for years to reminisce...
A doing done consciously to oneself,
Seems more now to wish...
Someone had screamed,
'RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
IT'S ONLY A NIGHTMARE.
DISGUISED AS A WANTED DREAM.'
And that 'nightmare',
To realize to reminisce uninvited.
Is the reason many do not admit,
They have become addicted...
To the strongest medication,
Found to find without being arrested.
'Are you sure you are okay?'
'I feel great.
Why do you ask?'
'You look as if...
You have not a worry on your mind.
Smiling all the time like that.
Are you...on some kind of drug?'
'Yes.
And...it's generic too!'
'Where did you find it?'
'At my doctor's office.
I beg him for advice,
As to how I could rid...
An agonizing memory linger from my past.
And he immediately referred me,
To his hypnotist.'
'Hypnotist?'
'Yes.
HIS hypnotist.
To say he would pay for it.
At no charge to me.
And to consider it generic information.
Since...
Besides himself,
He knew and identified quickly...
The symptoms of my suffering.
