An Enterprising Demising
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
An undertaking to demise,
Demean.
And purposely undermine to degrade.
The rising of diversity.
And the fear of teaching a history,
That includes the truth,
Of what 'critical race theory' really is.
And it to mean not to exclude,
To introduce this truth.
For what it is not to delude.
Has many citizens the World over,
Shaking in their...
American made cowboy boots.
Hoping to stop and prevent,
A marketing sold to sell...
Greatness told to tell it,
Embellished more to exaggerate.
Has acrually had more color in the quilt.
Built by ethnic hands to resist.
But insist to permit,
Such outrageous versions...
Of how black folks arrived,
On shores of old.
One version goes like this:
'I am so glad I am here.
Do you mind if I request to be enslaved?'
And this request had been granted,
To accept.
As being slaves singing...
Praises to their masters.
And if disobeyed to worshipped them,
Were sent to bed.
Without their favorite dessert.
Or threatened to be evicted,
From plantations.
With all of their possessions.
To only be given two weeks pay.
And a stipend to cover expenses,
For time they had been inconvenienced.
While being misunderstood,
That a being separated from family...
Homeland and a life they loved.
Is hoped to one day be considered,
A forgivable misunderstanding!
'Gee.
And how do those other versions go?'
'Well...
The scripts are still out for re-writes.
We are awaiting for just one,
That is as honest as fiction allows.
