Praising Deliverance
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The Lord honored my righteousness,
Rewarded the cleanness of my hands;
And because of my faithfulness,
For following all His commands.
For I kept the ways of the Lord,
And not wickedly departed;
While keeping in one accord,
Never becoming hard-hearted.
All of His statutes were before me,
His rules I did not put away;
Since His judgments help me to see,
No desire to go astray.
Before I am blameless and upright,
I kept myself from any guilt;
Iniquity not in my sight,
For salvation is being built.
So the Lord has rewarded me,
Cleanness of my hands in His sight;
As mercy and grace are to be,
While glory is shining bright.
His mercy is shining favor,
Keeping me as a blameless man;
He is my Lord and my Savior,
For equipping me in His plan.
He purified to make me pure,
The crooked He causes torture;
For those that confess He will cure,
By making them a new creature.
The afflicted people He saves,
But of the haughty eyes condemn;
For the iniquities enslaves,
In the darkness causing mayhem.
The Lord is a lamp to my feet,
Directing away from the dark;
My rock and fortress to defeat,
My enemies where they embark.
