Church Divisions
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I could never address,
You as godly people;
When you do not profess,
To be a disciple.
You are infants in Christ,
Not fed with solid food;
Your flesh is so enticed,
With carnal attitude.
You are fed with the milk,
For you are not ready;
With a life smooth as silk,
Not so slow and steady.
You still have carnal skin,
Flesh filled with jealousy;
Still behaving through sin,
Causing strife with envy.
Are you not merely flesh?
Of servants you believed;
Sacredly will not mesh,
For salvation received.
The Lord assigned to each,
Plant and water for growth;
For ministers to teach,
As ordained in your oath.
Plant and water as one,
Rewards for your labor;
With recruiting is done,
When blessing a neighbor.
Together we labor,
For the Lord in the field;
Raising up your neighbor,
Harvesting a big yield.
