Positive Substance
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Everyday life presents something fresh.
From no one kept to keep it hidden.
And everyday life to live represents,
Something new to experience a change.
Leaving what was old to be done,
To notice a difference not the same.
Although negativity to come to face,
Is difficult to pretend them to erase.
With a choice to avoid,
By looking away.
Yet...
No one is committed,
To indulge or participate...
In stupid stuff because it's there.
Or make excuses for ignorance to share.
Everyday.
Life to life it has its options we make.
If it is our choice to choose to accept,
Something fresh that has substance.
Without indulging to participate,
In a negativity to claim it unchanged.
While staying to remain in the same mess.
To address it.
And yet...
Who is it can we honestly accuse?
Or find this to blame?
If that choice to be made is ours?
Everyday to look for it.
To then become upset if the life we live,
Lacks substance not there to share it!
'Everywhere I go everyday,
There's nothing but the same old mess...
To see it!'
'Change your routine.'
'Why would I want to do that?
And who then would notice I've done it?'
'Well...
Probably you.
And those who probably won't miss you.
Be daring.
And I am willing to bet,
That feeling will be mutual.'
'What a negative thing to say.'
'And I hope one day,
My negativity inspires you...
In a positive way.
To be daring about it.'
'Don't try that reverse psychology on me!
Do I look like a fool to you?'
'No!
Unless...
That is your choice and preference?!
