Lullaby

Ya Gao 1996 (Beijing)

To develop tolerance for beauty
I watched at the moon all night
Constantly practice
Starring at a lover in front of her bed
She fell asleep more peacefully than ever
More peaceful than any moon and night
If she hangs up in the sky
Then my days will never shine
My love was stronger than ever
It was determined to leave her
Determined to spend the whole night finding boredom
But she was as fearless as a warrior
Face me to sleep every night
Calmly as in the face of death

It’s fine that we can’t live together
I felt it when I looked up in the sky
And the stars were so bright

About this poem

I am not a poet. I only write letters for her.
