Blinded Undermining
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
A blinded undermining,
Of others to accomplish this...
Is often limited to a doing,
Of something done that implies...
With allegations to instigate.
And begins with a spreading,
Of malicious can not quit its deliciousness
Gossip.
Sold and told by eager deceivers.
As if Lions released from cages.
Seeking the taste,
Of familiar scented flesh.
A blinded undermining,
Of others to accomplish...
A ruining of their integrity.
Identity and credibility.
May be believed to have been,
Successfully achieved.
Until...
Noticeable it becomes,
Those undermined blindedly...
Were the ones,
Spending their time to do their best...
Knocking on doors,
To create opportunities.
For others and not themselves.
Envious and innuendo lieing others,
Who could have done this,
For themselves to endeavor.
But thought it to their benefit,
To practice the teaching of backstabbing...
Themselves!
In the hope what they do,
Proves them popular enough...
To be promoted from imbeciles to fools.
'And...
This doing,
Of your attention grabbing deeds.
Benefits to satisfy...
Whom or who within the community?
Your community.
Our community.
A community,
In which this activity of yours...
With skill and expertise acquired,
Who has told you...
Your activities overwhelms them,
To unspeakable tingling ecstasy and joy!?'
'I don't want to brag.
But I am thinking of starting,
My own candle business.
With all the vigils and candle burnings,
Going on in the 'hood' these days?
I could make a fortune.
An honest to respect it life too.
And soon be able to solicit investors!
So...
How is that for a young man like me,
Thinking ahead and my future?'
'I remember,
The first time someone recommended...
That I would find it beneficial,
To drink prune juice in the morning.
At noon if I could.
And at night before I went to bed.'
'So...
What does your prune juice drinking,
Have to do with me?'
'The knowing what it is I do,
To patiently digest.
Won't stay with me that long.
And some say aging,
Is a process...
They would rather keep delayed.
Not me.
To know I can get rid of stuff,
As if time-released?
Not a worry or need do I have,
To burn a single candle.'
'It's true.
Aging to grow older,
Is a mental risk.
And a chance us young people,
Fear the most.'
'When I lost my youth,
It was like losing my virginity.
A painful enforcement of truth began.
Opening wider my tight closed mind.
Never in my wildest dreams,
Did I think...
My main attraction would be prune juice.'
'LOL...'
'You may laugh but I joke not.
I met stewed prunes.
And the satisfaction I received,
When knowing...
Nonsense to hear it spoken,
I could listen to it going into my ears.
And magically within 24 hours,
All of it is gone.
Flushed away,
With Mother Nature's assistance.
From my memory.
And...
Young man?
Don't rush it.
If you know what it takes,
To flush it.
Into the awaiting arms of nature.
Leaving you time to be creative,
With all of your endeavors...
Given time to enjoy.'
'Oookay.
I gotta go.
You old folks are too much.'
