towards the glass -- half overgrown --

Tvaltvadze Teymuraz 1963 (Sukhumi)

towards the glass -- half overgrown --
it had brought lots of baby-shells
behind the glass -- a face to front --
two alligators pressed  themselves

the dark was like a sarcophagus --
rolled up -- as a twisted fancy loaf --
its giant paw was aimly focused
on -- her female shoulder -- fond and soft

the shells were passing away from there
-- some strange affinity -- they had --
a force of current -- blind and fair --
and nothing more -- on either hand --

About this poem

the alligators were cramped behind the glass of the terrarium, but they did not know this because they loved each other
