Sinners Portrait
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The fool says that there is no God,
They are corrupt with evil deeds;
It is Satan they honor and laud,
While catering to his needs.
The Lord looks down on all of us,
To see if any understand;
That are seeking the Lord as thus,
Following what He does command.
All of them have now turned aside,
Together they became profane;
And no longer will they abide,
Acting contrariwise insane.
Have they no knowledge or wisdom,
Evildoers eat up people;
Shuns the heavenly kingdom,
Trying to destroy the temple.
They do not call upon the Lord,
Making great terror causing fear;
Righteousness that has been ignored,
Very seldom are they sincere.
They would shame the plans of the poor,
But the Lord has been my refuge;
His Spirit always keeps my heart pure,
Desires in mind I refuse.
For salvation is coming out,
When the Lord restores the fortunes;
Ensuring that there is no doubt.
Leaving no unanswered questions.
