A Brand New Day
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
As music from the throne resounds,
With all God’s children singing now.
The King of kings and Lord of lords,
Stands up and draws his mighty sword.
When Jesus Christ came to the earth,
The Christmas song was given birth.
The good news that has long been told,
Reveals itself as it unfolds!
The words of God will ever last!
The harvest time has come and past.
The wheat was gathered to his barn.
And there it will be kept from harm.
The lies that made men go astray,
Have now been bound and cast away.
The smoke still goes up from the fire,
That now consumes those wicked liars.
The knowledge of evil has now past.
The root of that tree burned at last.
But all God’s children rest and play!
It’s the dawning of a brand new day!
