Coronation of the Son
Why do the nations rage,
As people plot in vain;
Act like beasts in a cage,
Going through so much pain.
For the kings of the earth,
Set themselves together;
As if they will give birth,
In the stormy weather.
Let their bonds burst apart,
Casting away their cord;
Having hardened a heart,
Now living by the sword.
He who sits in Heaven,
Laughs at the derision;
All the Lord has given,
Now they cause division.
He will speak with His wrath,
Terrify with fury;
Setting upon their path,
Fear making them scurry.
He will tell the decree,
You are being His son;
He had begotten thee,
For the righteousness done.
He will make the nation,
As your inheritance;
As a new creation,
Giving your repentance.
You break them with iron,
Dash them into pieces;
Like Sampson with His brawn,
Until their life ceases.
O kings be wise and warned,
Serve the Lord as you fear;
Show how He is adorned,
As you laud and revere.
Kiss the Son lest angry,
You perish in the way;
Dishonor His decree,
In the end, you will pay.
