Peace of God
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I hope to see you in passing,
And to be helped in my journey;
Away from all the harassing,
From one who is an attorney.
I go to bring aid to the saints,
And pleased with their contribution;
Living without any complaints,
About latent persecution.
For they were pleased as to do it,
Indeed that we owe it to them;
To share the blessings in merit,
That the Lord will never condemn.
For if the Pagans come to share,
Partake in spiritual blessings;
They ought to be thanking in prayer,
For everything that the Lord brings.
I completed and delivered,
To them what I have collected;
Because of the Word they quivered,
The evil that they had inflicted.
I come in the fullness of Christ,
With His blessings I come to you;
Not letting me become enticed,
By earthly things that are not true.
I beseech that you love the Spirit,
Strive together with me in prayer;
So that we both can inherit;
Heavenly treasures we will share.
Save me from the unbelievers,
To be able to serve the saints;
For Satan and his deceivers,
Are not having any constraints.
So the will of God comes with joy,
Be refreshed in your company;
And within your heart to employ,
For bringing peace and harmony.
The God of peace be with you all,
Through all of your visiting plans;
Never to cause stumble or fall,
Turning Gentiles into fans.
