When Threatening Truth Becomes A Must
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
We learn to dance and sing,
Around bushes with thorns.
To prevent them from pricking,
Feelings to hurt.
And words hurt to sting.
Leaving many left...
Kept inside their protective bubbles.
To later be blamed,
With the causing of their own troubles.
When threatening truth becomes a must.
It is up to us and others disgusted.
To tell it like it is.
Straight from the mouth.
And lips to hear without it to fear,
Truth to speak it loud and clear.
Regardless if the doing of it,
Appears rude, disrespecting and appalling.
Since to dance.
And sing around the bushes...
Has never prevented,
One from being stung...
From lies told by the ones,
Accustomed to deceive.
With a doing of this to believe,
It fun to ruin someone else's credibility.
'So...
What you recommend and suggest,
Is to pour more gasoline...
On a fire one did not start?'
Today?
At the price of gasoline,
Going higher and higher.
Who will continue to afford,
Adding more fuel to keep ignited...
Something that stupid.
Before it dawns upon those to realize...
What they do to themselves,
Eventually doesn't supply the food...
Or pay the bills.
Needed.
As if an anger expressed,
Towards others to invest.
Is an acceptable payment...
By creditors who could care less,
Who did what to whom or why.
When all they want to see believed...
Is the color of money to receive.
And today?
The color of it...
Isn't Black.
None of it is White.
Brown or Yellow.
But Green.
Leaving little of it left,
In pockets as prices skyrocket!
'Over what are people fighting for?'
Being replaced by the color of faces.
Critical theories and images diversified.
And a power to maintain believed denied.
With a doing to sit in positions of leadership.
While a normalcy becomes,
A mental illness for everyone.
Stunned in an irreversible truth.
Threatening to undo,
A way of life...
Indebted to fiction and destroying delusions!
Reality has been turned upside-down.
'Reality?
Which one?'
Well...
Many are fighting to save the alternate one.
While some?
Some are doing the best they can,
To travel from one to the other...
Simultaneously.
'That to do is impossible.
How many flavors,
Can one cake baked...
Be enjoyed for the taste?'
Ask the ones pouring the gasoline.
One day and hopefully,
They will realize they have run out of fuel.
And...
Each other they will need,
Just one cake baked to please them all!
Like that old saying goes...
Either united we stand.
Or fools together,
We argue.
While the heat from the oven...
Burns the entire house down!
'I never heard that one before.'
A lesson to learn,
To know it taught to feel.
Shouldn't require repeated teachings.
'Huh?'
But many will still,
Attempt to beg, borrow or steal...
To buy a new oven.
Before building another house!
'What?
That to do makes no sense.'
If it did...
Would the house be allowed to burn down.
Then to argue amongst themselves,
Over the high cost it takes...
To pay for gasoline?
