Pleasing The Producer
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
('A doing done to themselves,
To blame others for the doing of it.
May keep us employed.
But makes absolutely no sense.
Even though getting paid to do this,
Is, unarguably, to our benefit.)
Words to hear,
From deep inside a kept secret place hidden.
Our undercover reporters,
Had been invited to witness the making...
Of gold plated handcuffs.
Prepared custom made to fit,
The ones to them unknown...
Yet knew this to acknowledge,
Had to have something to do...
With horrific crimes done to commit.
And as we leave this heated place.
To surface above to cover the latest,
Exclusive headline news revealed these days.
We find ourselves in the midst,
Of a putting together...
Pieces of a puzzle beginning to make sense.
Bombarding us with overwhelming evidence.
Clearing more to prove,
There is a 'there' there...AND...with proof!
Even onlookers.
And others hooked on their disbeliefs.
TV viewers, skeptics and news reporters all.
Observe with jaws dropped.
As the proof and evidence,
Becomes methodically released.
Pictures. Videos. And taped conversations,
Exposing criminals at the scene...
Of a crime to had denied,
Their own involvement of it.
Yet...
There they were plotting to plan,
A madness designed...
To undermine the people.
With a plan to please,
The writer, director and producer...
Who scripted their assignment.
('A doing done to themselves to do.
May to us make no sense.
Even though getting paid to do this,
Is, unarguably, to our benefit.
Yet...
Who in their right mind,
Would request the making...
Of custom made gold plated handcuffs?
Unless...
They were Master of Ceremonies,
Of an unannounced circus.
And wanting to surprise these as an award,
To unsuspecting clowns who participated.')
'Why are you whispering like that?
We are the ones doing our job.
And getting paid well to do it too.
Plus...
Whatever is going on,
Is not our business to confess to it.
We are only getting paid for what we do.
And not for what we had not done!
But...
I will admit this,
These handcuffs are nice.
And my mate might like a pair.'
