Closer To Doorsteps
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
When that which had been,
Old to be told stories sold to embellish.
Known even then to hear again,
With a fresh updating given to get...
In high definition on a wide screen TV.
Makes a difference.
To their renewed acceptance.
Regardless if the fiction,
Has been cemented...
In minds defending a delusion kept protected.
And...
With a doing to validate,
A version of truth faked to create.
But...
If what has never been experienced,
To know...
What for them is now vividly animated.
Marketed to sell beer, snacks,
Sex satisfiers.
And medications that quickly numb,
The effects of truth and its stunning reality.
Approaching closer to one's doorsteps.
How more frightening can this get?
And Who?
Of the they and them,
Will dispute the facts...
Of smiling ACTORS paid to testify...
To buy what is sold to sell on high def TV.
Before the supplies of told lies,
Are gone and no longer made available?
And Who?
Of the they and them,
Could sit through self inflicted torment.
That could be a threat of losing,
One's ability to be envied...
In one's neighborhood to be the first,
To be tricked yet loving to be duped!
Not too many these days.
Have experienced the benefits of truth.
Or realize their own foolish nonsense,
Has become a normalized way...
To live their lives.
Seeking conflicts.
Division and mental insecurities.
Kept to protect and their ignorance to defend!
