Medieval Evils; Dey Done Got
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
No one ever knows,
Which way the wind blows.
Until attempts are made to do it.
No.
Nobody knows,
How far some will go to recreate a past.
Just to prove it done to do.
To discover a different interpretation,
Of those less than heroic historic aspirations.
Dey...
Them, they and all the others left mesmerized.
In costumes and make up.
To imitate days to fiction until made craze.
Well...
Dey done got,
Tied up in knots.
And dey...
Them, they and all the others dazed,
Have been tricked by their own maneuvers.
To skip then trip over,
Foolish and unconscious stupid moves.
But,
What can one say...
To others deluded by a movie to watch.
Yet convinced its fiction is reality displayed.
And...
By hired and professional deceivers.
Dey done got,
So caught up to delude...
Truth to view as is,
On the streets to observe and see.
Is a myth to disrespect and dismiss.
As if a dream deferred.
To prefer something else.
Over the internet suggested.
By someone unknown yet to have met.
Dey!
Them, they and many found dumbed down.
Dey done got,
Stunned by their own...
Unexpected punishment.
And this they were made to believe,
Would be received by the ones...
Chosen and picked secretly.
To keep them fearing to become victims.
But dey,
Dim of wit and light years away,
From awareness.
In comfort zones condoning their own,
Approved and accepted madness.
Loved to like it or not,
Have opened up their own Pandora's Box.
Filled with 'Forget-Me-Not',
Medieval evils from which to choose and pick.
For the purpose to create,
A more updated display...
Of their own demise tastefully done.
With an appropriate etiquette,
Approved and accepted...
By the ones selected to make,
Competent and intelligent decisions!
'Should we use,
Conventional or nuclear powered weapons.'
'Gee...
How long will either take,
Before we can expect our normalcy back?
I don't want to miss,
Any of my favorite TV shows.
Or the SuperBowl.'
'There you go again being selfish.
I understand the nuclear powered weapons,
Are less intrusive to our quality of life.
And whenever our medieval games happen.
To be played.
We can still tape your favorite shows.
And no one is inconvenienced.'
'You're right.
I hadn't thought of it that way.
I'm glad one of us,
Is thinking to use common sense.'
