Earth Care
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
By awesome deeds, He answers us,
The God of our salvation;
The hope for all the earth as thus,
The farthest seas of creation.
Who by His strength made the mountains,
Being girded up with His might;
The water flowing like fountains,
Creatures quenching thirst with delight.
He who stills the noise of the seas,
Caused by the roaring of their waves;
Calming the tumult of the breeze,
That sent men to their early graves.
For those who dwell throughout the earth,
Are in awe about all these signs;
All creation of priceless worth,
When seen brightly as the sun shines.
With going out in the morning,
Dwell in uttermost parts secure;
Shouts of joy in the evening,
Our safety God will assure.
God visits earth and gives water,
Causing the clouds to provide rain;
Allowing your son and daughter,
To prepare harvest of the grain.
He waters furrows abundantly,
Blessing growth with softened showers;
The crops are growing buoyantly,
And seeing how the corn towers.
He crowns the year with a bounty,
Tracks overflow with abundance;
Surplus harvest in the county,
Faith is building with confidence.
The pastures of the wilderness,
As the little hills start to rejoice;
The cattle lowing, God will bless,
Shouts of joy by lifting your voice.
