Life of War

You put on a smile
Everything is fine
So it seems to those around you

Inside you are dying
With hate towards yourself
Never good enough

Since I was young
Always being put down
Will never be as good as others
Not deserving of anything good

You try and try to make things better
Never quite getting there
Medication makes life great for a while
But then this world makes it impossible

NO insurance, not enough money
Makes your world go back
Not good enough....again
I have the best husband, kids, grandkids
Then why am I still feeling this way
Not worthy of their love or time.

Depression is a silent war with yourself
That stems from long ago
Only to wish I was loved....by my own mind
If you can't love yourself....how can anyone love you?
Oh...... just wanting this war to end!
