Can There Be Content
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Can there be content.
Missed to dismiss it being constant.
Can there be substance.
To go unfelt to feel it,
Lacks in function.
Can what is already shown,
Be there already known.
Yet wanted to be something else.
Better to achieve a higher expectation.
Can what is already shown,
With an ease of it to get...
Disappoints.
Like love to wish to want.
But...
Not as seen on a TV screen.
Or in a magazine to compete with fiction!
Perfection.
Spoiled by perception of perfection.
Proper etiquette.
Free of blemishes and flaws.
To have them judged profiled and outlawed.
Perfection.
Scrutinized if this attempt is not achieved.
'Your ability to react,
As if a normal human being.
Is to be admired.
But today we are seeking,
More of a robotic representation...
Of a programmable yet realistic quality.
Now...
Read again the script.
Without hint of emotion to detect them felt.
Although...
If possible,
Turn your head to the right.
And from your left eye drop one tear.
To then turn your head upward.
We want the viewer to connect to the realism.
Leaving them left to imagine your torment.
Okay?
Quiet on the set.
And...action!'
'TO YOU?
MY LOVE IS FOREVER.
ALTHOUGH MY HEART YOU TOOK.
LEAVING ME TO BLEED.
CRUSHED.
AS IF THE PIMPLE ON MY CHEST...
EFFECTED YOUR DESIRE.
A DESIRE GONE.
WITH NOTHING LEFT,
BUT HORROR ON YOUR FACE EXPRESSED!'
'And...cut!
Now...
Do it again.
Without lowering your head to smile.
Remember,
We want the audience to connect...
To your agony.
Okay?
Again!
Do both eyes with tears this time.
Roll film.
And...action!'
