Liquid Courage

He lives his life not knowing which way is left or right,
He can’t even choose the correct path

Pouring Liquid Courage from bottles into a frosted glass while looking at a mirror of a reflection not his own,

Being carried home like a deadweight by people who act like they care just to use him for a quick buck,

Losing cents into glasses like money from his mind, the Liquid Courage only turns bitter but he’s used to the taste, his mind grows weaker with each devious sip.

He teaches in front of a choir of unruly children who classify him as someone who can take the burden of their snickers and insults,
Not knowing that they are the cause for his constant need of Liquid Courage and Liquid Happiness and Liquid Kindness and Liquid Life,

The constant pour,
Glass after glass,
Night after night,
Pity parties,
Make up sex.

While all of you choose to rest.
