Never a Hero

Hard work for over 12 years
12 years I shed blood sweat and tears
2 homes purchased and 2 children born
1 decision made, but no one warned
In the blink of an eye everything is gone
At 30 years old, my life needs to be redrawn
Unhealthy child that I can’t fix
You cannot imagine the pain it inflicts
Broken marriage and broken home
Unpredictable outcomes I never could have known
Once had it all and now I have nothing
Living paycheck to paycheck, isn’t that something
They say check on your friends, especially the “strong ones”
“He is always so happy” “Loves everyone tons”
Putting everyone first has gotten me zero
Now I have to tell my kids, I will never be their hero
