Back And Forth
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
The back and forth,
Of childish tits for tats.
Often kept to remind,
Chips carried on bitter backs...
Seldom resolve issues.
Staying to remain,
With assumptions and allegations...
To distort the truth of forgotten facts.
Memories to embellish,
Fiction to delude done to attract...
A defense against others purposely to attack.
Without substance for such acts.
Matters not who becomes victimize.
As long as those unconscious enjoy,
A sustaining that maintains a performance...
Distracted long enough,
To their minds detached...
From that which has nothing to prove,
Beneficial to the quality and way of life...
Bitter tit for tatters,
Picked to sit in postions of leadership.
Publicly expose themselves to show it known,
A caring of less about the people...
Who chose to elect them,
To correct the madness.
Instead more of it to get is witnessed shown!
'What is the meaning of any of this?'
'Sex, lies, videotapes and theft.
Who deceives to dupe, frauds and steals!
Envy, status and protective pretensions kept.'
'Yeah,
But...
Why are they yelling at each other?'
'They want to keep the minds of their children,
Kept from being influenced,
By beliefs,
That ethnic diversity and acceptance...
Strengthens a democracy.
And not weaken it by corrupted intentions!'
'Oh.
Sounds reasonable.
So...
This to do to censor truth and reality,
Will do what for the minds of the children?'
'The children?
Which ones?
The ones imitating to be adults?
Elected to walk the halls of justice.
Or the ones telling their parents where to go,
And what to kiss.
While getting high before going off to school?
Pretending innocence!'
'Comeon...
You paint a dire picture with your words.'
'Dire?
Those are my positive observations.
What's dire...
Is a denial to see the B.S. for what it is.
And then to blame the smell of it,
On organically grown fruits and vegetables!'
'Will you stop with the jokes.'
'Today?
Weed everywhere is just about legalized.
Who knows,
What chemicals are injected into the stuff.
And many years ago in the late 60s and 70s,
No one had been known to get sick.
Or driving the wrong way on streets.
Folks today are crazed.
More people are upset today,
If those who commit domestic violence...
Or a mass murder somewhere,
Won't or can't explain why they did it.
As if these occurrences are rare.
You know...
Like flooding after feet of snow has melted.
Or...
How humid and hot it can get in Summer.
Needless to say...
Feeling entitled to be as ignorant as possible,
Has become a normalize mindset.
None of that stuff was going on,
Back then when people sought to be...
Nonconforming mavericks.
People knew,
There would be seasonal changes.
Now...
Today?
Highly paid therapists, psychologists...
And the ones who claim,
They know God.
But not that close enough to face facts.
Or the truth about themselves.
Broken shells of nuts are all over the place.
Everywhere.
And people are asking,
From where these nuts came?
Or why they can't explain,
Horrific acts to commit.
As if the beginning to admit is off limits!'
'Uh...'
'Exactly.
I agree.'
