Thanksgiving Deliverance
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Oh give thanks unto the Lord,
His love endures forever;
For He is good in His Word,
A love that will not sever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord,
Whom He redeemed from trouble;
Keep walking in one accord,
Always be accountable.
Gathered in from all the lands,
From the east and from the west;
Be confident where one stands,
For being their godly best.
Some wandered the desert waste,
Finding no city to dwell;
Their soul fainted in their haste,
Hunger and thirst that they fell.
Then they cried unto the Lord,
To rescue from their distress;
Pleading not to be ignored,
In prayer, they did express.
God led them forth the right way,
A path as straight and narrow;
A city to dwell in to stay,
For today and tomorrow.
Thank the Lord for steadfast love,
His wondrous works unto man;
Satisfaction from above,
What unfolds from His plan.
He fulfills the longing soul,
That hunger and thirst for good;
To reach the heavenly goal,
We must do just as we should.
