False Teacher Denial
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Do not overlook this one fact,
Would be like a thousand years;
With the Lord whom you interact,
As if only one day appears.
The Lord is not slow to fulfill,
A slackness about His promise;
Be patient for you to instill,
Repentance before His justice.
He does not wish you to perish,
When He comes like a thief at night;
Each one of us He does cherish,
Because to Him as a delight.
For the Heavens will pass away,
The heavenly bodies will burn;
The earth and all works will decay,
That is prior to His return.
Since these things are to be dissolved,
Who is living in holiness;
As His chosen will be evolved,
Holy transformed to godliness.
Wait for and hasten for that day,
Upon the coming of the Lord;
When the holy will all obey,
And in being in one accord.
Heaven and earth set on fire,
Heavenly bodies burn and melt;
The fading of the heart’s desire,
Disappearing where one once dwelt.
Wait for the new Heaven and earth,
In which all righteousness will dwell;
As holiness will give new birth,
And all blaspheme God will dispel.
