Lie

A comforting myth
A cruel truth
The two confuse me
But that's just an excuse
Fabricated by my mind
To give me the solace that I wanted to find
But what is solace
If not truthless
What is solace
If not useless
Solace found in a comforting lie
That I desperately try so hard to justify
The truth that I disdain
The lie I embrace
Escaping the harsh reality
Questions my identity
