Restoration
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I am not silent for the sake,
Not quiet for Jerusalem;
Rather alarming to awake,
Before the Lord comes to condemn.
Not quiet until righteousness,
When salvation a burning light;
Shining forth with utter brightness,
In the dark depths bringing insight.
Righteousness the nations will see,
Of the glory by all the kings;
Upon their mouths, His name shall be,
Of the goodness that the Lord brings.
A crown of beauty in the land,
Glory shining brightly of your God;
Royal diadem in His hand,
Bowing down to honor and laud.
They no longer be forsaken,
No longer will be desolate;
From their slumber to awaken,
Zion will be their consulate.
For the Lord will delight in them.
And their nation shall be married;
No longer will the Lord condemn,
Their iniquities are buried.
As a young man marries his bride,
So shall your sons also marry;
To their husbands, wives will abide,
To be joyful and not wary.
