Our Living Hope
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Bless be God, Father of the Lord,
Coming from His mercy and grace;
Rebirth to be in one accord,
And comforted by His embrace.
Born again to a living hope,
Through the resurrection of Christ;
From the dead while in the scope,
Inherit what was sacrificed.
Inherit as undefiled,
That is kept for you in Heaven;
In being one as a child,
For a gift that will be given.
Kept through faith guarded by power,
Of God and given when we climb;
The salvation upon that hour,
Being revealed for the last time.
You will greatly rejoice for this,
As you grieve from the temptations;
That has caused a secular bliss,
Through trials and tribulations.
Of your faith tested by trials,
Being much more precious than gold;
Fire tested that defiles,
While time will start to unfold.
Through praise and glory may be found,
Honor at the revelation;
Appearing at the trumpet sound,
Jesus Christ with your salvation.
You love Him though you have not seen,
Rejoice with joy as you believe;
With knowledge of all that has been,
And knowing what you will receive.
Glory filled your faith receives,
Through the salvation of your soul;
Because of what each one believes,
The end result of God in control.
