Between Sleep And Dreams
Between Sleep And Dreams
Lost between sleep and dreams I find you
Your bright beautiful body
Beside me and completely serene
Suspended in the moment
Where time and space pause
Because you are right next to me
No words are necessary
Only hands, lips and skin
Need express what we feel.
And in this world of awe and wonder
Your quiet heartbeat plays
Next to mine in rhythm and rhyme
Metaphors and melodies
Scripted and unwritten
Loose themselves
Against our caressing forms
What we have long waited for
Gives way as our love.
Here our universe shines and awakens
Cosmic emotions and affections
Fly across darkness as light
Streaming your flesh and mine
Into a tapestry of souls and sharing
Between sleep and dreams
We waited long enough
Peace and slumber embrace us
As we make love and glow!
