Priesthood
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
We were gentle just like a nurse,
Cherishing care for a child;
And expecting something worse,
That would come being defiled.
Being ready, willing to share,
Affectionately desirous;
Knowing that God is just and fair,
Of our sins when we confess.
Our labor and the toil,
While we worked both day and night;
As we farm and till the soil,
Carries a burden of delight.
God and you are my witnesses,
How holy, righteous, and blameless;
Through having spiritual fitness,
And no longer do I transgress.
Our conduct toward believers,
That you are a child of God;
To be salvation receivers,
Ensured to be no longer flawed.
You are worthy to walk with God,
Who calls you into His Kingdom;
In glory to honor and laud,
Upon you, He gives you wisdom.
