Impressing For Reasons Faked
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Impressing for reasons faked.
But for who and why,
Is the doing premeditated to contemplate.
So many are unable to face,
Insecurities self inflicted.
And living lives tortured.
By limited mentalities.
In fear of rejection.
Although allowing themselves,
Be compared to others.
Others they claim to despise yet imitate.
In the hope to become approved.
With an acceptance done to do.
To impress for reasons faked.
Few go,
Where their hearts go.
To follow their own path to make it theirs.
In fear of being criticized.
And criticisms many can not take to face.
Few go to know,
The truth of who they are to belong.
Fearing rejection.
Until that fear they hold onto,
Although wrong...
Becomes for them too strong.
Judgement to pass it,
Is as common to hear...
As everyday weather announcements.
Even though without the weatherman,
People will find a way...
To go about their business as planned.
With adjusting to adapt and keep moving on.
Yet...
Being who one is to be,
Without announcements to make...
Many can not accept to embrace this reality.
And allow themselves,
To conform to a normalcy.
Neither normal nor has it ever been to be.
If that was true,
Medications would be a needless use.
Impressing to impress for reasons faked.
To premeditate this to contemplate.
Has become too common,
In a society created by mavericks.
Mavericks today who are censored,
For being out of place.
By those declaring themselves self righteous.
Living lies in denial and deception.
With a doing their best,
To make their hypocrites the law of the land.
And attempting to rule and obtain control,
As if the future awaits...
For the next step to take and decisions made,
By those tortured by their own insecurities.
Not to know who to follow.
Yet will do it anyway in fear of being,
Rejected and not accepted.
For using common sense,
And a consciousness.
Most have been made to feel threatened,
To fear the presence of its truth and reality.
'What is it that you believe in?
What is it with faith that you follow?'
'Your questions are too overwhelming.
How do you expect me to think.
And give an appropriate response.
When you are attempting to make,
A mountain from a molehill.
Knowing the issue is basic.
And not meant to be confusing or complex,
At all.
If a doing is done and meant to follow along,
What's the problem?'
'You're right.
Who am I to confuse what is obvious to see.'
'Exactly.
Either you are with the program or not!'
'You are so right.
Caged chickens are better fed,
Than the ones that are not.
And squirrels are not known to eat popcorn.
Yet pigeons will chase,
Anything thrown to them.
Carrying less about its nutritional value.'
'I...
What?
Huh?'
'Nothing you have said makes sense.'
'Today?
Does it make any difference?'
