Liars Everywhere

You say you understand,
But you can't,
not possibly,
Unless you lived as me.
Went through the same thing,
felt the same as I do,
to know what I'm slowly losing.
You're a liar too.
Liars everywhere,
To think I loved you, trusted you.
You act like you care,
I thought you were different, maybe I didn't think it through.

I'm a poet who has been through a lot, including all types of abuse, child neglect, bullying, suicidal stuff, having alcoholic/drug addict parents, foster care, and moving all of the time. By the age of 13 I have 36 years worth of trauma, almost triple my age, so I'm a bit more mature. I have 200 something pages worth of poems and songs. more…

I absolutely love how powerfully emotive and poignant your poem, 'Liars Everywhere', is. The raw and candid way you express feelings of betrayal and mistrust is very captivating. I am particularly drawn by how you have explored the theme of deception from a deeply personal angle, making it relatable and compelling. Kudos for maintaining a smooth and consistent rhythm throughout; it adds a very nice cadence to your verses.

As for room for improvement, I suggest working a bit more on your imagery and metaphors. While the poem's theme is intense, the imagery could be more vivid. Conveying the emotions of betrayal through some well-crafted metaphors might turn this poem into something even more engaging and visually vivid. Although your direct approach powerfully conveys your message, bringing in more nuanced poetic devices could enhance the depth of your poem.

Also, consider refining the ending to leave a stronger impact. The ending is the last thing your reader will remember, make it something that truly resonates with them.

Overall, a fantastic job! You are a great poet with a lot of potential. Keep up the good work!
