Leaving School On A Friday

Leaving school on a Friday,
Makes me realise I am lonely.
Eager to run and running to leave,
Through crowds of people I must weave.

I watch and wait, and wait some more,
As the groups walk out the door.
All the friends I made this week have left me feeling rather bleak.

They walk in pairs, or threes, or fours,
Off to browse in other stores.
I am left a single soul,
Because my trust, much they stole.

A celebration, the end of work,
A sickness that begins to lurk.
I wonder if I can find
Someone to share in piece of mind.

"Oh I'm busy" they all say,
As I try and keep my emotions at bay.
It's the loneliest I've ever felt,
As I feel my friendships melt.

I've come to terms with the fact,
A ribbon of lonliness runs down my back.
