Justifying Insignificance
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
More time these days,
Has been deliberately taken to waste...
A justifying the rising popularity.
Of creating insignificance.
Implemented and meant to distract,
Minds away from truth and facts!
Diminishing the seriousness of current events.
With a doing to hope,
People on them ignore and turn their backs.
Most live these days,
As if permanently comatose.
Addicted to shopping and mentally fictioned.
Assuming truth and reality,
Has little significance to current events.
Even if the ones they pick,
To sit in positions as leaders to represent...
The seriousness of their interest to disguise,
As wise and competent adults.
But perform more as children.
With a doing to achieve chaotic results.
And happy are their constituents.
Who follow behind them and cheer.
Observing to witness,
How these 'kids' remind them...
Of the same games they played.
Allowing them to reminisce,
Juvenile doings as they once themselves did!
But few who have long left behind them,
Games to have played do not stay that way.
Are too aware that children...
Never appreciate the toys they receive to get.
And...
For free.
Eventually destroy the significance them.
Or who and why to them were given.
And here we are living in these days to see,
Grown men and women.
Sitting in positions of authority.
Arguing amongst themselves.
Believing if they continue to throw tantrums,
Done repeatedly with more noise to produce.
Having it claimed what they do to protect,
The 'house' they were invited into...
With their best not to neglect.
Yet...
Once inside,
Decided common sense to use...
For them had been a thing of the past.
As they began to laugh.
While trashing this house as fast as possible.
To hope their constituents,
Will come to understand.
What they need eventually...
Is a new house built in the trees.
With ladders to climb and fresh air to breathe.
'What is going on?
Those adults act more like children.'
'Oh...come on.
Cut them some slack.
Since after burning the house down.
They agreed to build a huge tree house.
Where valuable decisions can be made.
Giving them the freedom,
To do that and relax.
In their own atmosphere.
Without listening to others,
About destroying entitlements...
They took for granted once to have had!'
'Makes a lot of sense to me.
Where will they install the elevator?
Climbing up and down ladders gets old.'
'Elevator?
Are you kidding.
These 'kids' today,
Are too impulsive to think about their future!
Or...
About aging to grow too old,
To climb up and down ladders.
Eventually...
They will get everyone to agree,
Burning down the tree house...
Is the best remedy.
To justify the insignificance of that done too!'
