My Honor
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
I can only respect and accept,
That which honors my own beliefs.
'Whoa. Back up.
You once had said,
You would follow the truth.
And the reality of it.
With the people you knew,
Who would do the same thing.'
This I did say and still do.
'Yet the majority of the people,
Disagree with your beliefs.
To neither honor or respect them.
Isn't what you say called hypocrisy?'
Maybe.
'Is it possible your beliefs,
Could be limited to a time...
Few find today,
Beneficial to their interests.
And those who may honor your beliefs,
Have minds cemented in the past now gone.
But are collectively deluding,
A fictioned reality.
They've created to stay denying truth as it is?'
And truth as it is to be is what to live it?
Like I said,
I can only respect and accept...
That which honors my own beliefs.
It is you and not me,
Attempting to convince yourself...if or not...
Living eyes can be detected.
And,
Your beliefs I should value more to respect.
And perhaps I could have done it,
If I had observed to witness and seen...
People who follow your beliefs,
Were not defending day and night...
Their right to create division,
Fraud, corruption, chaos and the list goes on.
Because they prefer to be honored,
Kings, Queens and born of royalty.
Without proving respect to give it,
To themselves.
With heartfelt sincerity.
And I don't expect to see that happening,
To anyone else.
Anytime to honor my beliefs or theirs,
Coming to do that soon.
Where is your crystal ball?
Speak now or forever keep your mouth shut!
