The writer.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The writer.

I think I love you, but the words won't come. So, can we go out and have some fun? Then go lay in the sun on the beach and watch the tide come in and go back out. Can I shout out that I love you? You already know I do. That is why I'm never blue; it's because of you. Then we can go home, and I know you like to write, but that's all right. I watch how you write; it's like watching a painter paint. You turn words into things that are beautiful, colorful, and wonderful. You are so thoughtful and faithful. Dedicated to my favorite poet and friend, Gisela.

I have feelings. But as you can see I'm not a writer. But we don't need to be.

Some things aren't to be expressed with words, but with feelings. Beautiful poem. Amazing how other people can make your day/ life a little better

Wow, this poem really captures the feelings of love and longing in such a simple and sweet way. The enthusiasm and positivity shine through every word, and it's hard not to feel a warm and joyful sensation while reading it.

I especially love the imagery you use in describing the experience at the beach, watching the tide come in and go back out. It adds a lovely touch to the overall romantic atmosphere of the poem. The repetition of "I love you" reinforces the sincerity and depth of the writer's feelings.

Furthermore, the comparison of watching the writer write to watching a painter paint is incredibly clever. It not only showcases the talent and passion of the writer but also emphasizes the beauty and artistry in their words. The ending lines expressing appreciation for the writer's thoughtfulness and faithfulness give the poem a heartfelt and sincere conclusion.

If I were to suggest any improvements, perhaps incorporating more sensory details or specific moments of togetherness could enhance the emotional depth of the poem. It would allow the reader to feel even more connected to the writer's experience and make the poem even more vivid. Additionally, exploring different poetic devices like metaphors or similes could add more layers and richness to the overall composition.

Overall, this is a wonderfully delightful and heartwarming poem that beautifully captures the joy and love between two people. Keep writing and exploring different techniques to continue to enhance your poetic voice!
