Darkness

Michael Grando 1963 (Buffalo NY)

Darkness
As arrogance and ignorance come into fashion
As they eat away at  love, truth and compassion.. Politicians using lies and fear to gain fame and notoriety, As slowly they unravel the fabric of society

My heart is breaking my mind is on fire as I struggle to comprehend  their all consuming  desire, to plant  the seeds of avarice and greed... As they turn their backs on what we the people need...
They all  like to ask  what would Jesus do?... but if Jesus came back would they kill him too?
Would they turn their ire towards Gods only son?...  because his hand is outstretched and not holding a gun?... would they shout him down and call him a freak as he shelters  the poor, the voiceless, the weak?.....

its always darkest before the dawn... how much darker must it be before the light comes on?...
