Little Suns

Little suns here in my garden
They watch the sun as she shines, smiling
Delicate petals yet so gorgeous
My reason to smile at the times I'm crying

"Children of the sun" I call them
And I bet they like that 'cause they love her
An azure background like the sky feels right on them
And how is that? I wondered
Sun shines in the same sky I realized
And sunflowers are as such in my eyes
It's only natural sky looks good on them both
Like mother like children, look at them go!

My little suns in my garden
I'll be the sky you want to shine in

I need no roses, no orchids, no tulips
Only sunflowers, holding them tight with my fingers
