All Aboard
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
When determination to reach,
A destination.
Done to be agreed by all,
Aboard to move forward.
And not backward to procrastinate,
A fear to face what is deliberated.
In a wasting of time.
More appreciated to anticipate this comes.
What point is being made.
By anyone who dares to say,
Progress to discover and accomplish it...
Has to have the approval of everyone,
Deciding upon one direction is better.
Than several suggestions attempted.
Getting no one anywhere.
But into a heated argument.
Over who arrived late to express,
That a dressing to impress...
Has its benefits to address success.
Regardless of where one goes to be seen,
Observed in public.
'You were late because of...what?'
'I was not sure if the suit I wore,
Matched the color,
Of the bow tie and shoes I had on!
Plus...
When people say they will dress casually?
They don't mean it.'
'You live two blocks away,
From the train station?
And you took a cab?'
'Oh?
So now I am the cause and reason,
Why you all missed the train?'
'SURPRISE!
We knew you would do this.
Like you always do to start an argument.
To keep us from moving forward.
Well,
Whether or not you like it...
Your plans we have changed.'
'I...
I have a fear of heights.'
'Tell that to the conductor.
When the train arrives.
On time!'
