The Procrastinators' Song

Meet my friend Tomorrow,
he's always there for you.
Greet my friend Tomorrow,
he'll help to see you through.

'Cause Yesterday is in the past
like a lover left behind.
Where memories mix with regret
and constantly remind...

Of things not said and things not done
and time that got away.
Reminding you Yesterdays' tomorrow
stands with you today.

And Now is tough because he'll make you work
and toil throughout the day!
And he won't let you sleep and he won't let you eat
and he won't let you out to play!

But like a drug that works right now and blurs the pain you feel,
my friend Tomorrow is waiting for you and he's ready to make a deal...

That the things you want to work on now will somehow go away.

And if they don't, or if they won't, he'll meet you the very next day!

About this poem

My life is full of ideas and thoughts not pursued. I am not complaining. It’s been a wonderful life … but it could and should be more. I found this poem I wrote almost 20 years ago, when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. Two decades later I still don’t know. This poem explains it all.

Random dude, who wrote a lot of random stuff, when he was going through a rough time in his life. He stuffed it in a box and is now getting back to it 20 years later! more…
