The shadow that kept me sane!

Alone in this madness!
For years, I've fought, to stay, positive!
Not knowing the whole time who watches close!
Completely, attempting to drown me while I'm still afloat!
In the end you never cared!
You were the solution to my problem that should have been there!
Instead, there were snakes in my grass!
Rats near my path and dogs that truly became mad!
The crown I always had you tossed around as if trash!
The whole time my sanity was fading fast!
I know the only reason I still strive is this gift I have!
The voice that keeps me uplifted and glad!
Now I hear him again!
A soft firm voice in my ear!
You live to want me to hate myself!
Tell the truth you are no help!
The anger I felt was so strong it could smother and melt!
You know why I do not call or text!
My grandmother use to say try The Lord!
Truly wise words yet my world is cold!
I'm hot so I will not fold!
My words even now are truly bold!
Escaping the true evil remains a light to my soul!
I work for what I have while others believe I should pay their bills!
This is the horrible world I live in!
While nothing changes except the rate of their hatred!
Ignorant, I, am not, your the one sounding basic!
 I will not trade this!
Change, to fit your space, empathize with any lies, or become someone I despise!
 Something truly sacred!
My soul is its own you could not take it!
Nor, will you ever brake my spirit!
Time, I shall not waist it!
I speak on facts while some laugh, my name remains signed at the bottom of platinum songs and I wrote a few of the worlds greatest poems!
Yet, day after day the way I'm treated at times has been a shame!
You think I speak of fame!
I speak of royalties!
 The recognition of my name!
That is what the money means to me!
 I write because I should!
Being positive is not always easy!
Some refuse to even hear me!
People hate the truth!
Someone knows who I'm referring to!
The government was created for the people!
 We are equal!
Instead, of living, a lie, that's a sequel, the only one that truly needs to do the right thing is you!
To stand for something is to believe also in what you do!
The greatest creator is the one in the mirror!
 I wont hang him!
