Truth or Deception
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
A great joy for walking in truth,
As commanded by the Father;
Being His children in their youth,
Following Christ as our Brother.
Not to write a new commandment,
But one for a new beginning;
But to love as an achievement,
And for stopping any sinning.
So that we love one another,
Love as we walk as He commands;
Loving like sister and brother,
Peace and harmony in all lands.
Many deceivers have gone out,
Of Christ’s coming and not confess;
As a deceiver full of doubt,
But the antichrist they profess.
Watch out that you are not to lose,
Since you worked for a full reward;
Always keep your Christian values,
That does honor Christ as your Lord.
One who transgresses but abides not,
In their house, they do not believe;
Follows not what they had been taught,
Salvation they will not receive.
If one comes teaching another,
Receive them not in your meeting;
They are not a Christian brother,
Wicked works need not your greeting.
