The Moon and Me

Winter Blessings

The Moon and Me - Poem by Kim Hamilton

There she was for all to see,
But on that morn it was just the moon and me,
God sends his lights to guide our way,
The moon by night and the sun by day.

Sometimes the moon stays up til morn,
As a winter's sky it does adorn,
God sends his love in many ways,
He is always there throughout our days.

As I gazed up into the sky that morn,
Full of joy that Jesus Christ was born,
The moon was there for all to see,
But on that morn it was just the moon and me.

About this poem

The poem was written after experiencing a special spiritual moment on my way to work one morning. The moon was still out, and it was still dark, and I loved being alone with the moon and its creator God. I made the moon feminine as I liked the idea of a motherly moon. Kim Hamilton
