A shattered mirror
A shattered mirror
My heart, a shattered mirror, lies in shards on the floor
A thousand pieces of me, scattered, lost, and forever more
Each fragment a memory, of what we used to be
Now a jagged reminder, of what I'll never see
In the deafening silence, I hear your voice, a haunting refrain
A whispered goodbye, that echoes, and makes me wonder if I was ever enough to remain
The weight of my worthlessness, crushes me to the ground
A soul adrift, in a sea of sorrow, without a lifeline to be found
Tears fall like a deluge, a torrent that won't subside
As I grieve the loss, of what we had, and what could have been my pride
In this dark and endless night, I'm lost, alone, and can't find my way
A soul trapped in sorrow, with no escape, no ray of light to guide me through the gray
Memories haunt me, like a ghost that won't rest
Reminding me of joy, that I'll never find, and love that's been repressed
The laughter we shared, the tears we dried, all silenced now
Like a melody that's died, and can never be played again, somehow
In this desolate landscape, I'm forced to confront
The fears I've hidden, the tears I've locked, the pain I've endured
The weight I've carried, the heart that's torn, the love that's been scorned
The pieces of me, that I'll never find, the parts of me, that are lost, and left behind
I'm left to wonder, if I was ever enough
If my love was worthy, or just a rough draft, unfinished, and flawed
Discarded and forgotten, like a work of art, that's been erased
A soul that's been erased, and replaced with a hollow, endless space
Tears fall like a deluge, a torrent that won't subside
As I mourn the loss, of what we had, and what could have been my pride
In this dark and endless night, I'm lost, alone, and can't find my way
A soul trapped in sorrow, with no escape, no ray of light to guide me through the gray.
About this poem
I recently am going through heartbreak from the loss of a significant other. I was dumped even after I did everything for her. She took a picture of throwing the 32 dollars of flowers away then posting it on TikTok where I can see it. And other things she did which was just cruel. It’s caused me health problems and I’m losing mental/emotional well being. Doing drugs and alcohol I can’t stop. I just don’t want to feel the pain. It’s scary for me. Because if I feel it then I’m afraid I would end it all. But here it is. more »
