Inner peace

Pinki Kumari 2001 (India)

I walk and keep walking until I find peace,
When my eyes meet a vast sea, tranquility's release.
I gaze upon her, diving into deep thoughts,
Then I rest upon the grass, where serenity is sought.

Amidst the calm, a sharp object caused a sting,
A pebble with edges that seemed to bring
Discomfort to my peaceful state of mind,
I lifted it, pondering what I would find.

With a toss, I cast the pebble into the sea,
Momentarily disrupting the peace within me.
But soon after, peace returned to the shore,
Forcing me to question myself once more.

Look within, I asked myself, and then inquire,
Why allow this small pebble to extinguish your fire?
Why let it breach the fortress of your inner peace,
When its presence should fade and troubles cease?
