Am I The only voice

As my eyes open and the fog of sleep clears
Memories of dreams still churn through my addled mind

I sit with my coffee cup in hand and look to media

To often I see how evil the world has gotten
How could people remove children from their homes
Even force them to do vile things and our country ignores it

Oh but our nation saves children from other countries
Not lifting a finger for our own as if they weren't a priority
Looking to our veterans, many of them have faught for us
Yet they are cast aside, homeless, and their health is ignored

Of course our leaders allow refugees and they receive better
No one hears our forefathers weeping with deep sorrow
Escaped from the rules of a nation, leaders now want here

Victims from across the ocean mean more than Americans
Only one country attacked our people and we taught them
Ignorantly our soldiers fight battles not our own
Cause of most of our wars only began to protect others
Except we will do nothing to find our trafficed children
There are thousands of homeless who eat what is thrown
Only they can't get funding because refugees are worth more

Reaching out to help others ignoring our own problems
As if the leaders are turning a blind eye on our unfortunate
Instead they fluff their feathers for battles not our own
Saying to the world that our people are marks
Existing thankfully is our forefathers protection

Lies have been brought to light and quickly swept away
Everyone seems to have forgotten our fellow man
The little things cause us more stress than important things

The children now days bring guns into schools in wrath
"How could this have been prevented" they ask
End rights instead of punishing the wicked involved
Most of our people would rather place blame on others

Rather than let anyone see weakness in what we know
Ignorance of how they get into power is what they hope for
Saying that a college knows more than our people who rules
Even knowing what to call someone now is judgemental
