Life and Death

Death and life go hand in hand.
Skipping and smiling as long as we stand
Laughing maniacally at our deprived hands.

Life prances while death dances, waiting to attack.
Tackling emotions, and putting them on their back.
It rips away, causing pain, in all but the dead.
But what is this force we seem to dread?

Is it the monster under the bed?
Or the voices inside peoples heads.
Is it hate, and torture, and pain?
Or lightning, lighting up the rain.
Must we fear it as a mouse does a lion?
Or is death peaceful and blissful and quiet.

Life is pain, and rage, and sadness.
Yet we assume death is hate.
Death is a reward, for our suffering world.
To give us hope and help us cope with evil.
