My Brother Is My Brother

I have been watching and listening...
And I don't like it. Not a wee bit.
O, how I wished, 'twas only a movie,
A make-believe!
Somebody, please tell me the truth.
I can handle it. And Lord, please
Hold my hand and temper my mind.
I want the "goddamm" (pardon me, Lord)
Truth about the bombings...the consequent
Deaths and destructions...the orphans,
The widows, the maimed, the lost...
The innocent victims.
In the barking wind, under a different sky,
I hear this cry--"My brother's house
Is a very big house.
One day, these strangers came to town and
Destroyed it with kicks and bombs.
And--then, came Deaths....
My brother is my brother--and I love him so."
Father in Heaven, please come down.
