Narrative
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Anyone who realizes,
They have been blessed to receive...
Reason and purpose.
Done to achieve,
At least the effort to endeavor...
In their attempts to make,
A positive difference made...
That effects the quality of life,
Not only for themselves.
But their friends, neighbors.
Close and distant relatives.
Regarded as members of one family.
Will not find the time to waste it.
Or a second of it to spend,
Participating in a negative narrative.
Hoping...
For attention to get for them given.
To not know or have a clue,
That road to have traveled...
Producing the same unchanged,
Results.
Benefits no one else.
Accept those who have been hired,
To fill the potholes created.
And paid union wages!
Awaiting.
Without an attempt to prevent,
Encouraging the stopping...
Of an event.
They observe to watch,
Such nonsense fill their pockets!
'Why not just pave over the road?
This should prevent,
You all from repeatedly filling up...
The same traveled road.
Only to put gravel on potholes.'
'You've got to be kidding?
At these wages we are paid?
With benefits too!
If people are unconscious,
As to what they do?
They may not be paid to stay stupid.
And we are not paid to give advice!
