Life,which is full of contrasts.
Once my place was inundated.
I found water everywhere
but not a drop to drink
and my thirst wasn't abated.
I saw a mother, enraptured.
Tears were dropping from her eyes.
These were the tears of happiness

MY LIFE RULES
Be cool.
Take off your shoes.
Put both seats down,
and try not to be a tool.
Always cheers after each new drink
and check to see if the convo sinks
when you repeatedly ask
“are you okay?” -
and don’t take them to... – by H. Lock | added by Sleekwood 11 hours ago |
Prom.
Porm.
Poem.
Eon.
Whatever the form,
it’s always me,
on
a quest
to find
the perfect way
to wish you well…
to wrest
to try
to punch your arm
to squeeze you tight
to talk til moments move from day to night…

I started to write a poem,
and then I stopped.
I stopped,
because the use of ART
to express emotion
diminishes the truth
of how I feel.
It’s a falsehood -
a facade…
an unconvincing,
anodyne version
of what I actually want to reveal

BOOMING WHISPER
When a whisper echoes with a boom
When Hope announces your doom
When tears break forth into true glee
My chains broke and now I am free
Darkest night shines the brightest Light
Peace with God though the world may fight

A Million Tear Drops
By Nancy Rodriquez
I have cried a million tear drops, which could become a sea on its own,
God above has counted them all, when my heart was broken and alone, He gave me comfort after our fall,
I’ve been up and down in my... – by Nancy Lynn Rodriquez | added by txpoet65 11 hours ago |

I imagined my death. Like when they gave thirty silver coins to the handsome, smiling Executioner, who wrapped the noose and rope around my neck and hung it on the gallows, and then kindly even nodded, but he only made a unanimous decision. Innocent they say,
Is what I’m meant to be.
The grass is green and the skies are blue,
All that you tell me, I accept is true…
If it’s otherwise, I don’t have a clue!
Innocence they say,
In me, they promise to protect.

ÈJÍWÙNMÍ
Èjíwùnmí [1] is not her name,
But Èjíwùnmí her name became.
An eulogy to the beauty that her gap teeth gave,
Which made her stand out as everyone’s fave.
Mesmerised I was, when she flashed me a smile.
To get a glimpse of her, I... – by Ayo Jaiyesimi | added by My_Poetry_Ayo 15 hours ago |

Why do you look the other way?
Why do you look at me with your eyes closed? Don't you want to see my soul? I'm different from you in so many ways, but you still take the time to judge me anyway. Every cloud that floats by is different in its own... – by A J C | added by alanswansea18 17 hours ago |
Life will have days that you will wish to revise
Things said or done will fill you with compromise
Decisions over which you will agonize
And still, the sun will rise
At times others will seek to antagonize
Nights filled with anger shall... – by B4 | added by thoughtsFromB4 17 hours ago |
