Analysis of The Last Thing I Remember

The best way to get along,
With anyone these days.
Is to admit,
A self induced coma.
Not intended to last as long as it did,
Had resulted in acquiring amnesia.

And the only thing I remember,
Was ordering two Long Island Teas.
While celebrating life,
Wading through...
The warm and clear waters,
Of the Bahamas.

'Oh...
So,
How on Earth...
Did you land up in the Bahamas?
You don't remember anything else?'

'The last thing I do remember,
Was thanking God...
For the trip.
The flight was fantastic.
Plus...
Being able to save up the money.
That took me...
At least six months to do.
But I enjoyed every moment of it!'

'And...
What about your amnesia?'

'Oh! That? Well...
My doctor asked me the same thing.
After two weeks relaxing.
Having fun. That kind of stuff.
And all I could say,
Was I had no idea...
How easy it had been to get it.
But the recovery?
Is much more difficult to get over.
And God knows...
Once an ingrown toenail is removed,
That pain no one wants to feel.
Are you kidding?

'I don't understand.'

'Trust me.
You don't want to either.
Who...
In their right mind,
Would want that...
Kind of suffering and pain,
Back to remember?
